Our Story

35 Years of Grassroots Service

Padma Mahila Mandali (PMM) was founded in 1990 by committed social workers in Khajipet, Kadapa District, Andhra Pradesh. Born out of a deep concern for the welfare of rural women, PMM set out to create a platform where women could find support, skills, and solidarity.

Over three and a half decades, PMM has grown from a small local group into a respected organisation with national registration and international donor partnerships spanning the Netherlands, Germany, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, and Hong Kong.

Working primarily in Kadapa and Tirupathi Districts, PMM reaches out to Dalit communities, tribal women, Muslim minority girls, and economically marginalised families.

    President, Padma Mahila Mandali

At Padma Mahila Mandali, we have always believed that uplifting one woman uplifts an entire family, and uplifting a family transforms a community.

For over 35 years, our dedicated team of women social workers has worked tirelessly in the villages of Kadapa and Tirupathi Districts, conducting health camps, running tuition centres, distributing study materials, training women in vocational skills, and advocating for the rights and dignity of every woman and child we serve.

We are deeply grateful to our international and national donors, our members, and our volunteers for making this journey possible. Together, we continue to build a more equitable and hopeful future for all.
